Yarden Petit Verdot

Petit Verdot rarely plays the leading role – on the basalt soils of the Golan Heights, the grape variety shows what it can do when given the necessary space.

Golan Heights Winery has been producing wine on volcanic hillsides between 400 and 1,200 meters above sea level since 1983. The combination of cool nights, intense sunshine, and mineral-rich soils ensures slow ripening and pronounced structure – ideal conditions for a variety that needs time.

In the glass, a deep ruby red with a violet rim. The nose offers blackberry, black plum, and a hint of dried violet, underpinned by cedar and dark chocolate. On the palate, dense but well-integrated tannins, lively acidity, and a long finish with notes of black pepper and tobacco. A wine with structure that will benefit from a few more years of bottle aging.

Serving suggestion: Now with pan-seared lamb loin, braised beef shoulder, or strong hard cheese. Drinking window until 2029. Serving temperature 17–18 °C.
