Weegmüller-Scheer & Hammel 2 hearts Scheurebe dry

Scheurebe is considered one of the most distinctive white grape varieties of the Palatinate – and this 2 Herzen dry Scheurebe from the Hammel & Cie winery impressively demonstrates why. Created in close collaboration between Weegmüller-Scheer and Hammel, it represents over a hundred years of Scheurebe tradition in the region.

Fermented and aged in a sandstone cellar , it embodies everything that makes this grape variety so special: intense aromas of pineapple, passion fruit, and grapefruit ; vibrant fruitiness underscored by spicy nuances; and a fine, clearly perceptible minerality on the finish. The wine is dry, yet by no means harsh – it combines freshness and depth in a way that is characteristic of well-made Palatinate white wines and is highly valued.

It pairs perfectly with Asian-spiced dishes , seafood, and aged goat cheese. It's best enjoyed slightly chilled on its own – as an aperitif or a quiet companion in the evening, one that doesn't need any grand gestures to impress.

Weingut Hammel & Cie

Since 1723, the Hammel & Cie winery in Kirchheim an der Weinstraße has been one of the reliable addresses in the Palatinate – today, Christoph Hammel is already running the business in the ninth generation. You can feel almost three centuries of family tradition in every bottle: this is not about short-term trends, but about consistency that has grown over generations.

On 42 hectares around the historic village center of Kirchheim, Riesling, Burgundy varieties, Sauvignon Blanc, and now also Grüner Veltliner grow – and in one of the mildest climate regions in Germany. This special warmth, combined with the diverse soils of the Palatinate, gives the grapes a ripeness that you can taste in the end in the glass. In the vineyard, the family sticks to proven traditions; in the cellar, they consciously rely on the targeted use of steel and wood to give each grape variety exactly the framework it needs.

The result is wines with a clear signature and aromatic fruit that deliver exactly what the family itself formulates as its leitmotif: to bring joy. Whether for an uncomplicated evening or a special occasion – at Hammel & Cie you will find wines that combine tradition and Palatinate joie de vivre in a completely natural way.
