Taylor's Chip Dry Port DOC

The grapes for Chip Dry White Port (Malvasia Fina, Rabigato, Esgana Cão, Viosinho, and Gouveio) are hand-harvested, pressed, and fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. Normally, wine distillate is added after half the sugar has been converted into alcohol. However, with this White Port, the distillate is added later, once the majority of the sugar has already been converted. This results in its distinctive, and rather unusual for a Port wine, dry flavor. Chip Dry White Port matures for four to five years in large oak barrels. Color: light golden yellow. Aroma: delicate, classically mature aroma, slightly nutty, with fine ripe fruit and wood notes. Taste: the fruity acidity lends freshness and a juicy character, while the small amount of residual sugar underscores the mature aroma and gives the Port body.
