Siefersheim Heerkretz Riesling GG Double Magnum

The Heerkretz is one of the great Riesling sites in Rheinhessen — volcanic porphyry weathered soil, which gives the wine a striking minerality rarely found in this density. Wagner-Stempel from Siefersheim farms the site organically and has been one of the most reliable addresses for dry Rheinhessen Riesling at the GG level for years.

In the glass, the Heerkretz Riesling GG shows a clear, golden-yellow color. The nose opens with citrus zest, white peach, and a characteristic hint of flint — typical of its volcanic origin. On the palate, the wine presents itself dense and taut, with a lively acidity that carries the long, mineral-salty finish.

The double magnum bottling (3 liters) is not a showpiece, but a maturation advantage: larger bottles age more slowly and evenly, and the drinking window extends accordingly to 10–15 years. Drinking temperature: 10–12 °C. Pairs with zander fillet with butter sauce, aged goat cheese, or a classic Wiener Schnitzel — and makes a statement on the table.
