Pinot Gris QbA dry

A Pinot Gris that shows what Rheinhessen can do when limestone soils and craftsmanship come together: dense, lively, with real bite.

Wagner-Stempel cultivates around 20 hectares in the Siefersheim hills – one of the few Rheinhessen vineyards with weathered limestone and porphyry soils. The winery is known for dry, mineral-driven wines that clearly stand out from the often softer Rheinhessen mainstream style. Daniel Wagner manages the estate with a consistent focus on expressing the terroir.

On the nose, pear, ripe apple, and a salty, slightly chalky minerality. On the palate, a firm body with drive: invigorating freshness, a delicate citrus note, a touch of bitter spice, and an astringent grip that gives the wine definition. The finish is long, mineral, and stimulating – not a crowd-pleaser, but a wine with character.

Recommended dishes: Veal schnitzel with capers, fried cod on fennel, goat cheese or pasta with sage butter.
