Siefersheim Heerkretz Riesling GG

Siefersheim Heerkretz Riesling GG
The Heerkretz is one of the best sites in Rheinhessen – and Wagner-Stempel consistently gets the most out of this porphyry slate soil: a Riesling GG with real depth.
The winery in the small village of Siefersheim, southwest of Alzey, has been one of Rheinhessen's most influential wineries for years. The Wagner-Stempel family cultivates the steep slopes surrounding the village, where red porphyry and clay slate force the vines to develop deep roots. The Heerkretz vineyard is the centerpiece: a monopole site with a unique selling point in the region.
In the glass, this Riesling displays both power and vibrancy. Aromas of yellow peach, mirabelle plum, and quince mingle with herbal spice and a distinct mineral undertone – almost salty, with a hint of flint on the finish. On the palate, it is full-bodied yet not heavy: the lively acidity keeps everything in balance, and the finish is long and invigorating.
