Wagner-Stempel Riesling QbA dry

Wagner-Stempel Riesling QbA dry
A Rheinhessen Riesling with a clear signature: mineral, taut, with a depth that is extraordinary for an entry-level wine.
Wagner-Stempel is based in Siefersheim in western Rheinhessen – an area that was long underestimated but is now considered one of Germany's most exciting Riesling addresses. Daniel Wagner cultivates the sites on porphyry and limestone weathered soils, which give the wine its characteristic spice.
On the nose, quince, ripe apple, and a distinct hint of salt — plus a touch of fresh herbs and mint. On the palate, the wine presents itself lean and straightforward: firm acidity, stony minerality, not a gram of fat. The finish is long, dry, and only shows a subtle extract sweetness in the finale, which provides fullness without breaking the freshness.
- Food: Grilled zander, asparagus with herb vinaigrette, mild goat cheese
- Temperature: 10–12 °C
