Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

Robert Mondavi played a key role in establishing Napa Valley as a world-class wine region. This Cabernet Sauvignon perfectly embodies that ambition: grapes from his own vineyards in Oakville and Stags Leap, as well as from long-standing partner winemakers, vinified in the classic Napa style.

This blend unites several terroirs of the valley: The cooler, loamy soils of Carneros provide elegance and freshness, while the warmer sites in the northern valley contribute the dense, dark fruit aromas for which Napa Cabernet is world-renowned. Petit Verdot, Cabernet Franc, and Merlot complete the assemblage, adding depth, structure, and aromatic complexity.

  • Aromas: Dark berries, blackcurrant concentrate, a hint of cedarwood
  • Structure: Strong, ripe tannins, balanced acidity
  • Serving temperature: 17–19 °C

Pairs well with ribeye steak, braised leg of lamb, or mature hard cheeses such as aged cheddar. Drinking window: 3–10 years from harvest, depending on the vintage.

Robert Mondavi

Robert Mondavi Winery embodies one of the most consequential ideas in modern wine history: that Napa Valley can compete with the world's great wine regions. Since its founding in 1966, the winery in Oakville, California, has worked toward precisely that goal – and proven it.

At its heart lies the legendary To Kalon Vineyard , one of North America's most prestigious vineyards. Here grows the Cabernet Sauvignon that made the estate famous: structured, age-worthy, with the unmistakable profile of Oakville soils.
