Podio Langhe Nebbiolo

This wine is made exclusively from Podio grapes, 85% Nebbiolo and 15% Barbera. After careful hand-harvesting, the grapes are transported to the winery. A temperature-controlled fermentation then takes place. The wine matures for a minimum of six months in oak barrels, followed by a further four months in the bottle. Carettas Podio Lange Nebbiolo is a very fine red wine from the Alpine Piedmont. It has an intense ruby red color and sparkles in the glass. Aromas of blackberry, cassis, hay, sweet spices, and vanilla. Food and Travel International 2020: Best Winemaker in Italy 2020 (award presented by Riccardo Cotarella, World Federation of Oenologists).

Tenuta Carretta

Tenuta Carretta is a winery steeped in history. Above all, it's a winery where people work together towards a common goal: producing high-quality wines. The winery is located in southern Piedmont, in Piobesi d'Alba in Roero. Its vineyards cover approximately 70 hectares and lie within the Langhe-Roero and Monferrato wine regions, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The name Carretta likely derives from an Albanian noblewoman who lived in the area in the 14th century and was probably the estate's first owner. However, the winery's history officially begins in 1467, when a lease agreement was signed for the purpose of cultivating grapes on the estate's land.
