Tenuta Carretta Barolo Cannubi DOCG

A classic Barolo from the legendary Cannubi vineyard in Piedmont, with intense aromas of roses, licorice, and fine chocolate. The Tenuta Carretta Barolo Cannubi is a tribute to Piedmont's centuries-old winemaking tradition and embodies everything that makes a great Barolo. The Cannubi vineyard is considered one of the most prestigious single vineyards in the entire Barolo zone and has been producing wines of exceptional quality for generations. The Carretta family cultivates the noble Nebbiolo grape here with the utmost care, employing traditional methods that show the greatest respect for the terroir. The complex aroma profile of this Barolo reveals a fascinating palette of intense rose notes, spicy licorice, and delicate chocolate nuances, underpinned by subtle minerality and earthy tones. On the palate, the full power and elegance of the Nebbiolo grape unfolds – structured tannins harmonize perfectly with vibrant acidity, creating a taste experience of remarkable depth and complexity. This Barolo is a wine for special occasions and patient connoisseurs. Its structure and character make it the perfect companion to Piedmontese cuisine, as well as to robust meat dishes and aged cheeses. Over time, it develops additional facets, becoming a true masterpiece in the glass – a wine that embodies all the magic of Piedmont. James Suckling: 94 points for the 2018 vintage, "outstanding"

Tenuta Carretta

Tenuta Carretta is a winery that can look back on a long history. But above all, it is a winery where people pursue one goal together: to produce high-quality wines. The winery is located in the southern Piedmont, in Piobesi d'Alba in Roero. The vineyards cover approx. 80 hectares and are located in the Langhe-Roero and Monferrato wine-growing regions, which are part of the UNESCO World Heritage. The name Carretta can probably be traced back to an Albanian noblewoman who lived in the area in the 14th century and who was probably the 1st owner of the estate. However, the actual history of the winery begins in 1467, when a kind of lease agreement was concluded for the purpose of viticulture on the estate's land.
