Ockfener Bockstein Riesling Kabinett

A classic Mosel Riesling with the typical interplay between fine residual sweetness and lively acidity — light, playful, yet with real depth.

Markus Molitor is one of the most famous names on the Saar and Mosel. The winery in Bernkastel-Wehlen cultivates steep slopes on weathered Devonian slate, which gives the wines their characteristic minerality. The Ockfener Bockstein is one of the most renowned single vineyards of the Saar — a south-facing slope with deep blue slate that forces the vines to grow deep and produces wines with a clear sense of origin.

In the glass, the Kabinett shows aromas of white peach, apricot, and a hint of citrus zest. The acidity is present but integrated — it gives the wine tension without being sharp. The residual sweetness feels light and fresh, not heavy. The finish is long, mineral-driven, and marked by a fine slate note.

Served at 8–10 °C, it pairs well with Asian cuisine featuring chili and ginger, cured salmon, or a light goat cheese. It also makes a great aperitif on a warm evening.

Weingut Markus Molitor

Weingut Markus Molitor stands for Mosel Riesling that clearly expresses the unique characteristics of this German wine region. Hardly any other winery understands how to translate the steep slate slopes of the Mosel into wines that combine minerality, freshness, and depth in their own unique way.

At Vinoscout, you will find a fine selection of four white wines that show what the Mosel has to offer in terms of Riesling – from fresh lightness to mature depth. Each bottle tells its own story: some impress with zesty acidity and a lean structure, others with dense aromatics and an almost creamy texture, which is typical for the best sites along the river.

The bottles are priced between 17.30 and 25.60 EUR, making the range interesting for both uncomplicated enjoyment and special occasions. Whether as a spontaneous companion for the evening or as a highlight on a festive table – at Markus Molitor, you will find Rieslings that bring the Mosel to life in every glass.
