Oberrotweiler Henkenberg Pinot Gris Qualitätswein trocken

Oberrotweiler Henkenberg Pinot Gris Qualitätswein trocken
Pinot Gris from the Oberrotweiler Henkenberg – one of the best sites on the Kaiserstuhl, where volcanic weathered soil gives the wines their characteristic bite and mineral depth.
The Landerer winery from Vogtsburg-Oberrotweil is one of the most reliable wineries in the Kaiserstuhl region. The family cultivates the typical strengths of the area: wines with substance that are far removed from merely pleasing softness.
On the nose, this Pinot Gris reveals pear and roasted almond, along with herbs and a hint of tree bark. On the palate, fresh apple, ripe pear, and a light, buttery texture unfold – supported by a firm body with a distinct backbone. The minerality is not merely decorative, but rather provides structure. The finish is long, with tart stone fruit notes, bark, and a lingering aroma of toast. Slightly astringent and dry – not a wine to be sipped casually.
Recommendation: Pairs well with veal schnitzel with mushroom cream sauce, pan-fried trout with an almond crust, or strong mountain cheese. Serving temperature 11–13 °C. Brief decanting is recommended.

Landerer Winery – this is Burgundy that tastes of volcanic soil. Literally. On the Kaiserstuhl, where ancient volcanic rock forms the soil, the Landerer family has cultivated their vines for generations. The Kirchberg, Eichberg, and Henkenberg vineyards give the wines something that can't be forced – it has to be allowed to happen. Johannes Landerer understood this early on. At 17, he planted his first vineyard, experimented in the barren rock, and developed his own style. In 2016, after the sudden death of his father, Thomas, he took over the winery – a heavy burden he bears with respect and passion. What drives him: that you can truly taste in the glass where the wine comes from. Vintage, soil, microclimate – everything should be perceptible. To achieve this, his team works in harmony with nature, consciously reduces yields, and gives the grapes time to ripen. Wine that tells a story. People who listen.
