Künstler Hochheim Kirchenstück Riesling GG dry

Künstler Hochheim Kirchenstück Riesling GG dry
A Riesling from one of the best Rheingau sites – the Hochheimer Kirchenstück delivers wines that combine elegance with real depth. 98 points from James Suckling for the 2022 vintage speak a clear language.
The Weingut Künstler in Hochheim am Main has been one of the most reliable addresses in the Rheingau for decades. The Kirchenstück site is located directly at the Main bend: deep loamy soil that stores heat and ensures even water supply for the vines even in dry summers. The result is Rieslings with unusual texture and long development potential.
In the glass, the wine shows delicate stone fruit aromas – pear, white apple – with floral hints and a fine mineral line. The acidity is precisely integrated, never shrill, but rather silky. Medium to full body, long, spicy finish with a light salt note.
- Temperature: 10–12 °C
- Food: Fried zander, veal medallions with herb sauce, ripe mountain cheese, or tarte flambée with crème fraîche

Rheingau since 1648. Today in Hochheim, managed by Gunter Künstler and his team. 42 hectares of vineyards on light, loamy soils. The focus is on Riesling – in many variations. Also cultivated are Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, and Pinot Noir. Among the best vineyard sites are the Hochheimer Hölle, the Kirchenstück, and the Rüdesheimer Berg Schlossberg. Around 300,000 bottles of wine are produced annually. Rheingau as it should be – precise, elegant, and full of character.
