Qvinterra Grauer Burgunder trocken QW Rheinhessen 0.75L

The Qvinterra Grauer Burgunder from Kühling-Gillot shows what Rheinhessen Grauburgunder can achieve when it comes from the right soils: full-bodied, yet fresh and clearly structured.

Kühling-Gillot is one of the most prestigious wineries in Rheinhessen. The estate cultivates vineyards along the Rhine terrace, where calcareous and loamy soils provide the foundation for mineral-driven wines. The Qvinterra is the entry-level wine in their range – approachable, yet with a distinctive character.

In the glass, it displays ripe pear, white peach, and a hint of yellow plum, underpinned by a subtle spiciness. The body is full, the acidity well-integrated and pleasant – not a wine that offends, but one with backbone. The finish remains fruity and clean.

Best served at 10–12 °C . Pairs well with creamy pasta dishes, pan-fried salmon, poultry in cream sauce, or a mature Brie. It also makes a solid, uncomplicated accompaniment to a good weeknight dinner.

Weingut Kühling-Gillot

Carolin and Oliver Battenfeld's winery is located on the Rhine terrace. Kühling-Gillot is distinguished by its organic farming practices, which have been expanded to include biodynamic methods since 2005. For Carolin and Oliver Battenfeld, the European hare symbolizes fertility and joie de vivre. In recent years, the winery has developed into one of the absolute top producers in Germany. The slate soil of the famous Roter Hang (Red Slope) around Nierstein and Nackenheim produces wines whose blend of delicate fruit and vibrant minerality represents something of an ideal example of a great dry wine.
