Jacopo Poli Cleopatra Amarone Oro

A grappa made from the pomace of Amarone grapes—that is, from the pomace of Corvina, Rondinella, and Molinara grapes, which were dried using the appassimento method before being fermented into Amarone. This base makes all the difference: the grapes contribute concentrated fruit and spice that permeate the distillation process.

Jacopo Poli is one of Italy's most renowned grappa distilleries. Located in Schiavon (Veneto), the distillery has been using steam distillation (Bagnomaria method) since 1898, a process considered particularly gentle and capable of preserving delicate aromas. The Cleopatra line represents aged grappas—the Oro matures for almost twelve months in French oak barrels.

In the glass, it displays aromas of dried red fruits, plums, and cloves, along with a subtle roasted note and vanilla from the oak aging. The palate is round and full-bodied—unusually smooth for a grappa. The finish is warm and lingering, with a light note of dark chocolate.

Best enjoyed neat at room temperature, after a dinner of game or strong cheese. Also a harmonious choice to accompany dark chocolate.

Jacopo Poli

Po' di Poli – unassuming in name, masterful in glass. For this grappa from the Poli distillery, the addition of "Morbida" (soft, gentle) perfectly captures its essence. The pomace comes from Muscat Blanc grapes grown in the Euganean Hills and is distilled drip-fresh in a copper pot still using the traditional, discontinuous method. The master distiller skillfully separates the heads and tails, retaining only the exquisite heart of the distillate. After six months of rest in stainless steel tanks, the grappa is gently filtered. The result: a grappa of gentle softness and delicate aroma. Truly Poli.
