Jacopo Poli Due Barili

A grappa with real depth: Jacopo Poli's Due Barili matures successively in two different wooden casks – first in French barriques (225 liters), then in 500-liter botas that previously contained Pedro Ximénez sherry. This two-stage cask finish is unusual for a grappa and decisively shapes the character of the bottle.

Jacopo Poli is one of Italy's most renowned grappa distilleries. The family business, based in Schiavon in the Veneto region, has been distilling since 1898, now in its fifth generation. Their focus is on artisanal distillation of fresh pomace – without compromising on raw material quality or aging.

In the glass, the Due Barili displays a warm golden color. On the nose, dried fruits and dates – a clear echo of the PX sherry – mingle with vanilla and a hint of toasty aromas from the barrique wood. On the palate, it is soft and full-bodied, the sweetness remains subtle, and the finish is long and spicy with a touch of warmth.

Neat at room temperature, after a meal – classically as a digestif. If desired, combine it with dark chocolate or a strong hard cheese such as Parmigiano Reggiano.

Jacopo Poli

Po' di Poli – unassuming in name, masterful in glass. For this grappa from the Poli distillery, the addition of "Morbida" (soft, gentle) perfectly captures its essence. The pomace comes from Muscat Blanc grapes grown in the Euganean Hills and is distilled drip-fresh in a copper pot still using the traditional, discontinuous method. The master distiller skillfully separates the heads and tails, retaining only the exquisite heart of the distillate. After six months of rest in stainless steel tanks, the grappa is gently filtered. The result: a grappa of gentle softness and delicate aroma. Truly Poli.
