Jacopo Poli Marconi 42 Gin

Jacopo Poli Marconi 42 Gin
An Italian dry gin from Veneto, combining the grappa distilling expertise of the Poli distillery with classic gin botanicals. The name references Guglielmo Marconi—the inventor of wireless telegraphy came from the same northern Italian region.
Jacopo Poli runs the distillery in Schiavon (Vicenza) in the fourth generation. Known for grappa distillates considered a benchmark for the Veneto style, the house applies this meticulous care to the Marconi 42: copper stills, hand-selected botanicals, 42% ABV — designed to balance herbal intensity with drinkability.
Juniper is the clear dominant aroma on the nose, followed by Mediterranean herbs: rosemary, basil, and thyme. The palate has a smooth texture, with coriander and a hint of mint in the mid-palate, and a dry, slightly spicy finish. Remarkably approachable for a dry gin.
The herbal notes are most pronounced when served neat over ice. A neutral tonic is recommended as a G&T, garnished with fresh rosemary or basil. It's also a harmonious choice as a base for a Negroni with Italian Amaro notes.

Po' di Poli – unassuming in name, masterful in glass. For this grappa from the Poli distillery, the addition of "Morbida" (soft, gentle) perfectly captures its essence. The pomace comes from Muscat Blanc grapes grown in the Euganean Hills and is distilled drip-fresh in a copper pot still using the traditional, discontinuous method. The master distiller skillfully separates the heads and tails, retaining only the exquisite heart of the distillate. After six months of rest in stainless steel tanks, the grappa is gently filtered. The result: a grappa of gentle softness and delicate aroma. Truly Poli.
