Grüner Veltliner TRAISENTAL DAC

A Grüner Veltliner that brings the cool, windy character of the Traisental region straight into your glass: taut, clear, and with the typical peppery spice that makes this grape variety so unmistakable in Lower Austria.

Winzer Krems is one of Austria's most traditional wine cooperatives, founded in 1938 in the wine town of Krems an der Donau. The Traisental DAC is one of the country's smallest and youngest appellations — the loess and primary rock soils give the wines a distinct minerality that clearly sets them apart from the broader Kremstal region. The DAC classification guarantees varietal character: Grüner Veltliner from this area must be vinified dry and exhibit regional stylistic features.

In the glass, the wine displays aromas of green apple, white pepper, and a hint of citrus zest. The acidity is invigorating and precise, the body is lean, and the finish is marked by a subtle spicy note — the classic profile of a cool Traisental Veltliner.

Served well-chilled at 10–12 °C, it pairs perfectly with Wiener Schnitzel, pan-fried zander, or a fresh potato salad with pumpkin seed oil. It also makes a great, uncomplicated companion to vegetable dishes and light poultry.
