Ried Kremsleithen Krems Kellermeister Privat

The Ried Kremsleithen is one of the renowned single vineyards of the Kremstal DAC region — a limestone terrace soil that gives the Grüner Veltliner or Riesling a distinct minerality. Founded in 1938, Winzer Krems eG is one of Austria's largest and most traditional wine cooperatives, with around 800 hectares of vineyards along the Danube. The Kellermeister Privat line represents the cellar's hand-picked selection: grapes from top sites that the cellar master specifically reserves for this edition.

In the glass, the wine shows a lively acidity structure, as shaped by the Krems limestone soil. Aromas of white peach and grapefruit, underpinned by a subtle herbal note and a fine minerality on the finish — the typical signature of the Kremsleithen site. The palate is dense, yet lean and with a long-lasting, fresh line.

Best served at 10–12 °C with zander fillet in beurre blanc, asparagus with hollandaise sauce, or a risotto with herbs and Parmesan. It also pairs well with goat cheese from the Wachau region.

WINZER KREMS eG

Winzer Krems eG is one of the most well-known wine cooperatives in Lower Austria – rooted in Krems an der Donau, in the middle of one of Austria's most classic white wine regions. Here, where loess and primary rock characterize the soils, Grüner Veltliner grows above all: spicy, crisp, with that typical pepper note that you won't find in any other grape variety in the world.

Cellar master Franz Arndorfer sums it up himself: Good wines can only be made from healthy, ripe grapes – technology can support this, but not replace it. You can feel this credo in the wines. In addition to Grüner Veltliner, Blauer Zweigelt also plays a role – Austria's red character, with cherry aromas and a velvety structure.
