Glen Moray Classic Port Cask Single Malt Whiskey

It tastes soft and fruity, with a sweetness characterized by the port wine cask and not by smoke. The finish in the port wine cask focuses on fruit rather than power. This suits a whisky that works without peat and remains on the mild side at 40% vol. With this alcohol content, it appears round and without sharp edges.

Compared to a typical Speyside malt without cask finish, it gains more fullness and additional sweetness through the second maturation. Anyone who has previously experienced whisky as too harsh or too smoky will find an accessible entry point here. If you are looking for peat and sharpness, you are better off with an Islay malt.

Classically, it belongs in the glass after a meal, as a digestif. Its soft sweetness and medium-long finish form a calm conclusion without overpowering the food.

It pairs well with dark chocolate because its fruit sweetness catches the bitter substances and both aromas complement each other.
