Bushmills 10 Year Old Single Malt Irish Whiskey 40% vol.

Bushmills 10 Year Old is an Irish single malt whiskey made with Irish barley. The malted barley is dried in sealed kilns, preventing contact with smoke. After fermentation with yeast, it undergoes triple distillation in copper pot stills. The still-clear whiskey is then brought to a drinking strength of 40% ABV with water from the nearby St. Columb's Rill. The whiskey matures for ten years, primarily in ex-bourbon oak casks and briefly in ex-oloroso sherry oak casks. On the nose, Bushmills 10 Year Old Single Malt displays a floral sweetness with distinct hints of honey. The aroma is characterized by mild malt and vanilla notes. A fruity component and sherry influence are also perceptible. On the palate, the whiskey is remarkably smooth. Memorable are a balanced, fruity spiciness and aromas from the oak cask. A creamy toffee note also gradually develops on the palate, accompanied by a dry sherry note. The finish is quite long and primarily features a very smooth toffee note that lingers on the palate. A fruity freshness can also be detected.

The Old Bushmills Distillery

The Old Bushmills Distillery – founded in 1608, licensed since 1784, and thus the oldest licensed whiskey distillery in the world . Located in County Antrim, Northern Ireland, on the edge of the rugged Atlantic coast, it has cultivated a craft for over 400 years that is second to none.

What makes Bushmills special? The signature triple distillation process , which makes each whiskey exceptionally smooth – and cask finishes in Oloroso sherry casks, which give Black Bush its dark, rich depth. Irish whiskey as it should be: approachable, complex, and simply good.
