Hibiki Japanese Harmony Blended Whiskey
Hibiki Japanese Harmony is the entry into the world of Suntory's Japanese blending art — a whisky that shows why harmony as a stylistic principle should be taken seriously.
Suntory, founded in 1923 by Shinjiro Torii in Yamazaki, is considered a pioneer of Japanese whisky culture. Since 1989, the Hibiki style has stood for blending at the highest level of craftsmanship: several single malts from the Yamazaki and Hakushu distilleries, as well as grain whisky from Chita, are assembled into a well-rounded, coherent cuvée. Aged portions of Mizunara oak—the rare Japanese oak wood—contribute to its distinctive character.
In the glass, it displays a warm amber color. The nose offers honey, white chocolate, and a hint of sandalwood. On the palate, orange peel, vanilla, and dried rose petals emerge—the floral notes are no accident, but rather a result of the Mizunara aging process. The finish is long, slightly spicy, and smooth.
Neat at room temperature or with a large ice cube. Classically also served as Mizuwari — with still water in a 1:2 ratio, a preferred drinking style in Japan that unlocks the subtle aromas.
