Glenmorangie Triple Cask Reserve

The Glenmorangie Triple Cask Reserve is a light, approachable Highland single malt known for its tropical fruity style – characterized by three different cask types that give the whisky an unusual aromatic breadth.

The Glenmorangie distillery in Tain, on Scotland's northeast coast, has been operating with Scotland's tallest pot stills since 1843. This height contributes to a particularly light, floral distillation character. The Triple Cask Reserve matures in a combination of American bourbon casks, sherry casks, and a third cask type – hence its complexity in the glass despite its approachable nature.

On the nose, it reveals ripe pear, candied orange peel, and honeysuckle. On the palate, vanilla and aged pear candies follow, complemented by a subtle spiciness of cinnamon, clove, and nutmeg. The finish is smooth and sweet – maple syrup, a hint of crème brûlée, lingering long without any harshness.

Serving temperature: 18–20 °C, neat or with a large ice cube. For mixing: its fruitiness shines through beautifully in an Old Fashioned with bourbon bitters. Also makes a great digestif with apple pie or mild blue cheese.
