Elena Walch Pinot Grigio Selezione DOC

Elena Walch Pinot Grigio Selezione DOC
Pinot Grigio from South Tyrol – that's often either pale and bland or surprisingly full of character. This one belongs to the latter category.
Elena Walch has been cultivating her vineyards in the Adige Valley and around Tramin for decades, with a consistent focus on single-varietal wines that convey the alpine character of South Tyrol. The Selezione line stands for selective harvesting and careful vinification – not a mass-produced product, but a wine with a clear connection to its origin.
In the glass, it displays a pale straw yellow color. The nose opens with aromas of ripe pear and apple, underpinned by a delicate floral note. On the palate, the wine is round and harmoniously structured – the acidity remains restrained, the mouthfeel soft and balanced. The finish is clean, with a light mineral note.
This very texture makes it a rewarding companion at the table: grilled sea bass , risotto with zucchini and Parmesan, light pasta with seafood, or a platter of goat cheese. Serving temperature 10–12 °C. Best enjoyed young, ideally within the next two years.

Elena Walch – an architect by passion, a winemaker by conviction. Since 1985, she has dedicated herself wholeheartedly to her vineyards. Her motto: "Good wine doesn't grow by itself!" She has uncompromisingly transformed the two South Tyrolean Cru vineyards, Castel Ringberg and Kastelaz, owned exclusively by her family. Piece by piece, she converted the pergola trellises into modern Guyot training systems with Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot. The result: low yields, healthy grapes, gentle vinification with targeted use of oak. Fruity, elegant white wines – and red wines, pure "tigers on velvet paws." Top-class South Tyrolean wines with a clear signature.
