Elena Walch Pinot Bianco Selezione DOC

Elena Walch Pinot Bianco Selezione DOC
A Pinot Blanc that shows what Alto Adige can get out of this often underestimated grape variety: clear fruit, lively acidity and a precision that convinces from the first sip.
Elena Walch is one of the most influential wineries in South Tyrol. Based in Tramin, the estate cultivates vineyards in the Adige Valley and on the hills around Kurtatsch—limestone and porphyry soils that lend structure and mineral freshness to the wines. The Selezione line represents hand-picked grapes from the best parcels of the vintage.
In the glass, it displays a pale straw yellow color. The nose is clear and direct: white peach, pear, and a hint of almond, along with a delicate floral note. On the palate, the wine is lean and precise—not broad or heavy, but with a lively acidity that keeps it vibrant. The finish is clean and pleasantly long.
- Serving temperature: 10–12 °C
- Drinking window: now until 2027
- Pairs well with: asparagus with hollandaise sauce, pike-perch on a bed of spinach, mild goat cheese or a simple risotto with Parmesan.

Elena Walch – an architect by passion, a winemaker by conviction. Since 1985, she has dedicated herself wholeheartedly to her vineyards. Her motto: "Good wine doesn't grow by itself!" She has uncompromisingly transformed the two South Tyrolean Cru vineyards, Castel Ringberg and Kastelaz, owned exclusively by her family. Piece by piece, she converted the pergola trellises into modern Guyot training systems with Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot. The result: low yields, healthy grapes, gentle vinification with targeted use of oak. Fruity, elegant white wines – and red wines, pure "tigers on velvet paws." Top-class South Tyrolean wines with a clear signature.
