Elena Walch Cardellino Chardonnay

Cardellino is the goldfinch, a bird that thrives in the pristine environment and diverse insect life of South Tyrol's vineyards. Elena Walch consciously chose this songbird as the symbol for the label of this Chardonnay to express her connection to nature and the preservation of winemaking traditions in Alto Adige. The bouquet exudes concentrated aromas of ripe yellow fruits, accompanied by a subtle hint of vanilla. On the palate, it reveals a complex structure, robust yet velvety smooth. The finish of Elena Walch's Cardellino Chardonnay Castel Ringberg is remarkably long and beautifully harmonious.

Elena Walch

Elena Walch – an architect by passion, a winemaker by conviction. Since 1985, she has dedicated herself wholeheartedly to her vineyards. Her motto: "Good wine doesn't grow by itself!" She has uncompromisingly transformed the two South Tyrolean Cru vineyards, Castel Ringberg and Kastelaz, owned exclusively by her family. Piece by piece, she converted the pergola trellises into modern Guyot training systems with Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot. The result: low yields, healthy grapes, gentle vinification with targeted use of oak. Fruity, elegant white wines – and red wines, pure "tigers on velvet paws." Top-class South Tyrolean wines with a clear signature.
