Egon Müller Le Gallais Wiltinger Braune Kupp Riesling Spätlese

The Braune Kupp vineyard in Wiltingen is one of the Saar's exceptional, quiet sites — and Le Gallais, Egon Müller's sister winery, has been producing Rieslings there for generations, some of the most precise in the region. The Spätlese is not an everyday wine, but rather a testament to what makes Saar Riesling unique.

In the glass, aromas of ripe apricot, dried mango, and a hint of orange zest emerge—underpinned by the typical slate minerality that distinguishes Saar vineyards from the softer Mosel vineyards. The natural residual sweetness doesn't feel heavy but is balanced by the high acidity: ethereal, precise, with a long-lasting, slightly salty-mineral finish.

Serving suggestion: Serve chilled at 8–10 °C. Pairs well with Asian curries with coconut milk, roast duck breast with orange sauce, or a mature Munster. As a dessert wine, enjoy with apricot tart or citrus crème brûlée. Drinking window: now until 2035+.
