Wiltinger Braune Krupp Kabinett le Gallais

A classic Mosel cabinet, just like you'd find in a textbook – except that the Braune Kupp is not a textbook, but one of the quiet top vineyards of the Saar.

Le Gallais has belonged to the Egon Müller family since 1978 and is located in Wiltingen, where grey slate dominates the soil. The Braune Kupp vineyard – a south-facing steep slope directly on the Saar River – yields Riesling with this characteristic combination of cool fruit and slate minerality. Egon Müller is considered one of the leading producers of off-dry Mosel Riesling; the vineyards are cultivated by hand, and the harvest is selective.

In the glass, this Kabinett displays aromas of white peach, lemon zest, and a hint of jasmine. The acidity is lively but never aggressive, embedded in a delicate interplay of residual sweetness that lends the wine length and a smooth texture. The finish carries the typical slate minerality reminiscent of wet stone.

Drinking window: now until 2032. Serving temperature 8–10 °C.
Goes well with: crayfish with dill butter, Asian curries with coconut milk, mild goat cheese or simply on its own as a summer evening glass.
