Egon Müller Le Gallais Wiltinger Braune Kupp Riesling Spätlese

Egon Müller Le Gallais Wiltinger Braune Kupp Riesling Spätlese
The Braune Kupp in Wiltingen is one of the quiet, exceptional vineyards of the Saar — and Le Gallais, the sister winery of Egon Müller, has been producing Rieslings there for generations that rank among the most precise in the region. This Spätlese is not an everyday wine, but an argument for what makes Saar Riesling unique.
In the glass, aromas of ripe apricot, dried mango, and a hint of orange zest appear — underscored by the typical slate minerality that distinguishes Saar vineyards from softer Mosel sites. The natural residual sweetness does not feel heavy, but is kept in balance by the high acidity: floating, precise, with a long-lasting, slightly salty-mineral finish.
Serving tip: Served chilled at 8–10 °C. Pairs with Asian curries with coconut milk, roasted duck breast with orange sauce, or a ripe Munster. As a dessert wine, it goes well with apricot cake or crème brûlée with citrus.
