Domaine Chanson Beaune Clos des Fèves Monopole Premier Cru

Clos des Fèves is one of the most renowned single vineyards in the Côte de Beaune—and one of Burgundy's rare monopolies: 4.5 hectares exclusively owned by Domaine Chanson. The Domaine is among the oldest négociants in the Côte d'Or, founded in 1750, and has been part of the Bollinger Champagne group since 2000. This combination of historic vineyard and experienced cellar team produces a Premier Cru that showcases Beaune in its classic form.

In the glass, it develops a medium-deep ruby color with violet reflections. The nose offers aromas of sour cherry, raspberry, and a hint of violet, underpinned by subtle oak and a light touch of white pepper. On the palate, it is medium-bodied with fine-grained tannins and lively acidity that gives the wine structure and freshness. The finish is long and spicy, with a lingering fruity note.

Drinking window: now until 2032; it shows its best character with aeration or after a short decanting. Serving temperature: 16–17 °C. It pairs well with Coq au Vin, veal medallions with mushrooms, or a mature Époisses.

Domaine Chanson

Domaine Chanson, founded in 1750, is one of the oldest and most prestigious wineries in Burgundy. It is among the few estates that have survived since the 18th century. Since 1999, it has been part of the Bollinger Group, which has undertaken extensive restorations and modernizations to make the winery one of the finest in Burgundy. Nestled amidst picturesque hills, the 45 hectares of vineyards flourish in the most prestigious appellations, including Beaune, Savigny-lès-Beaune, and Chablis. Here, tradition and modernity blend seamlessly, creating a unique symbiosis that imparts a distinctive character to each wine. The historic Bastion, a 15th-century wine cellar, is the heart of the estate. Within these venerable walls, the wines mature to true perfection under ideal conditions. Each bottle tells a story of dedication and craftsmanship.
