Coudoulet de Beaucastel AOC

Since 1909, when the Perrin family purchased the Beaucastel estate, their pursuit of producing great wines has been strengthened year after year and further developed by the fourth and fifth generations. The Perrin family's philosophy and conviction is that the vines should grow as naturally as possible to express the unique terroir. Chemical fertilizers and pesticides have not been used since 1964. Over the years, the vines have developed their own natural resistance to attack. Experience has also shown that the wines become even greater when they are blended from several grape varieties. Therefore, a total of 13 grape varieties are cultivated at Beaucastel. Coudoulet de Beaucastel comes from the 30 hectares of the Beaucastel vineyard in the Côtes du Rhône appellation. The grapes are harvested by hand and sorted again upon arrival at the winery. The harvested grapes are heated to 80°C (skin) and then cooled to 20°C. Classic maceration in concrete vats lasts two days. The blends of the different grape varieties are fermented separately after malolactic fermentation. Aging takes six months in oak barrels. Color: Deep ruby red; Nose: Red fruit, licorice, blackberry; Palate: Very nice structure and a good, long finish. Wine Spectator: 90 points for the 2010 vintage.

Perrin et Fils

Perrin et Fils – a family-owned French winery, founded in 1909. With 110 hectares, it is one of the most impressive in the country. The soils of sand, limestone, clay, and red loam form the basis for Syrah, Grenache, Cinsault, and many more. The Perrin family's philosophy: vines should grow as naturally as possible to express the terroir. Since 1964, no chemical fertilizers or pesticides have been used. The vines have developed their own resilience. Up to 97 Parker points prove: this approach is working. Thirteen grape varieties grow at Beaucastel – the blending of which produces great wines.
