A Côtes du Rhône that demonstrates why the Perrin family has been among the most reliable addresses in the Rhône Valley for decades: powerful character, ready-to-drink structure, fair price.
Winery: Famille Perrin – known for their flagship Château Beaucastel in Châteauneuf-du-Pape – vinifies this Réserve from Grenache and Syrah grapes from the family's own vineyards around Orange, as well as Mourvèdre from Vinsobres. This results in a classic southern blend with a clear sense of origin rather than mere genericity.
In the glass: Dark berry fruits – blackberry, black cherry – with a spicy background of garrigue, thyme, and a hint of pepper. The tannins are present but rounded; the acidity keeps the wine lively. Finish with fleshy depth.

What does the wine pair best with?
Classically with lamb chops with rosemary butter or grilled merguez. It also cuts a fine figure with braised veal, game dishes, and strong cheeses like Cantal or Manchego.
At what temperature should I serve it?
Best at 16–18 °C — i.e., slightly chilled, not at room temperature. Put in the refrigerator for 20–30 minutes shortly before pouring if it was stored warmer.
Is this a dry red wine?
Yes, completely dry. With 14% ABV, it has some body, but remains balanced and not heavy due to the lively acidity of the Grenache base.
How should I best store the bottle?
Cool, dark, and lying down — this keeps the cork moist and the wine stable. A constant temperature between 12 and 16 °C is ideal; temperature fluctuations are more harmful than a slightly too warm cellar.
The Domaine
Perrin et Fils – a French winery in family ownership, founded in 1909. With 110 hectares, it is one of the most impressive in the country. The soils of sand, lime, clay, and red loam form the basis for Syrah, Grenache, Cinsault, and many more.
The philosophy of the Perrin family: vines should grow as naturally as possible to express the terroir. Since the 1950s, no chemical fertilizers or pesticides have been used. The vines have developed their own resistance.
13 grape varieties grow on Beaucastel – great wines are created from the blend.
