Perrin family Ventoux AOC

The Ventoux AOC from the Perrin family is a southern French red wine that combines accessibility and craftsmanship – classic Rhône style without heaviness.

Perrin et Fils from Courthézon is one of the most renowned wineries in the southern Rhône Valley. The family has cultivated vineyards around Châteauneuf-du-Pape for generations, but also consciously produces wines from the surrounding appellations – including Ventoux, whose grapes ripen at the foot of the eponymous mountain massif in significantly cooler nighttime temperatures than in the flat Rhône Valley.

In the glass, the wine displays aromas of cassis and ripe blackberry, underpinned by delicate lavender and a hint of peppery spice – typical of the garrigue-dominated vegetation of the region. The palate is medium-bodied, the tannins soft and well-integrated, and the acidity provides freshness without harshness. The finish is short to medium-long, fruity, and clean.

Best served between 16 and 18 °C . Pairs well with grilled lamb with herbs de Provence, ratatouille, or a mature goat cheese. Also a simple accompaniment for a midweek dinner.

Perrin et Fils – a French family-owned winery, founded in 1909. With 110 hectares, it is one of the most impressive in the country. The soils of sand, limestone, clay and red loam form the basis for Syrah, Grenache, Cinsault and many more. The philosophy of the Perrin family: vines should grow as naturally as possible to express the terroir. Since the 1950s, no chemical fertilizers or pesticides have been used. The vines have developed their own resistance. 13 grape varieties grow at Beaucastel – the blend creates great wines.
