Cornaro Prosecco Treviso Spumante DOC Brut

A classic Prosecco from the hilly landscape of Treviso – the heart of the DOC zone north of Venice. Cantina Montelliana processes Glera grapes using the Charmat method (tank fermentation), which gives the wine its fine, lively bubbles and typical fresh aromas.

Straw yellow in the glass with green reflections. On the nose, pear, white peach, and a hint of acacia blossom. The Brut style keeps the residual sugar low – the finish is dry and citrusy. Serving temperature: 6–8 °C.

As an aperitif, with antipasti featuring mortadella or prosciutto, with light pasta dishes with zucchini, or with fresh soft cheeses. Also an easy choice on its own to start an evening with friends.

The Brut style keeps the residual sugar deliberately low. Pear, white peach, and a citrus-fresh finish are in the foreground – no cloying sweetness. Those who usually find Prosecco too sweet will be right at home here.

What does the Prosecco pair best with – only as an aperitif?

It works well as an aperitif with antipasti featuring mortadella or prosciutto, but also holds its own alongside light pasta dishes with zucchini or fresh soft cheeses. It is also a solid choice with light-fleshed fish.

At what temperature should I serve the Prosecco?

6–8 °C – meaning directly from the refrigerator, shortly before pouring. Too warm, the perlage quickly loses its liveliness and the fresh aromas seem flat.

How is the Prosecco produced – is it the same process as for Champagne?

No. Cantina Montelliana relies on the Charmat method (tank fermentation), where the second fermentation takes place in a pressurized tank – not in the bottle like with Champagne. This results in a fine, lively perlage and emphasizes the fresh fruit aromas of the Glera grape.

How long can I store the Prosecco?

Prosecco made using the Charmat method is designed for freshness – it does not benefit from long storage. Best to drink within one to two years of purchase so that the perlage and aromatics are at their peak.

Is the Prosecco also suitable for larger groups, or rather a single-glass wine?

The 0.75l bottle is enough for four to five glasses – good for a small group to start the evening. Uncomplicated in character, not a wine that needs much attention.

Cantina Montelliana

Cantina Montelliana is an Italian winegrowers' cooperative founded in 1957. The cooperative includes the wineries Monteliana, Cornaro, Villa Trevi, Marco Polo, Montegrande, and Montasolo. Cantina Montelliana's vineyards are situated at an altitude of 120 to 250 meters (on the hills of the Colli Asolani and Montello). The region's soils are characterized by gravel, and the climate can be described as alpine to Mediterranean. Grape varieties cultivated for wine production include Chardonnay, Glera, and Marzemino.
