Cannonau di Sardegna DOC Riserva 1.5L Magnum

Cannonau on Sardinia is one of the oldest red wine varieties in the Mediterranean region — and Sella & Mosca has been one of the most reliable interpreters of this grape variety since 1899. The Riserva shows what two years of barrel aging in Slovenian oak can do for the island grape.

In the glass, the wine presents itself in a deep garnet with slight brick tones. On the nose, blackberry, dried cherry, and violets, which gain intensity with increasing age. The body is powerful, the tannins are well-integrated due to the maceration and long wood aging, and the finish is warm and slightly spicy with a hint of tobacco.

The 1.5-liter magnum matures more slowly than the standard bottle — an advantage for anyone who wants to store the wine for a few more years. Now until 2029. Temperature: 17–18 °C.

Sella & Mosca

The Italian winery Sella & Mosca was founded in 1899 by Emilio Sella and Edgardo Mosca. Located on the island of Sardinia, near the city of Alghero, it is now owned by the Campari Group. A total of 550 hectares of vineyards are used to cultivate grapes for the production of both white and red wines. The volcanic soils, combined with the local Mediterranean climate, provide perfect conditions for vine growth. Grape varieties used for red wine production include Connonau, Cabernet Sauvignon, Carignano, and Merlot. Sella & Mosca's white wines are made from grape varieties such as Vermentino, Sauvignon Blanc, and Torbato.
