Cannonau di Sardegna DOC Riserva 1.5L Magnum

Cannonau from Sardinia is one of the oldest red wine varieties in the Mediterranean – and Sella & Mosca has been among the most reliable interpreters of this grape variety since 1899. The Riserva demonstrates what two years of barrel aging in Slovenian oak can do for this island grape.

In the glass, the wine presents itself in a deep garnet color with slight brick hues. The nose offers aromas of blackberry, dried cherry, and violet, which intensify with age. The body is robust, the tannins well-integrated thanks to maceration and extended oak aging, and the finish is warm and slightly spicy with a hint of tobacco.

The 1.5-liter magnum matures more slowly than the standard bottle – an advantage for those who wish to cellar the wine for a few more years. Drinking window: now until 2029. Serving temperature: 17–18 °C.

Sella & Mosca

The Italian winery Sella & Mosca was founded in 1899 by Emilio Sella and Edgardo Mosca. Located on the island of Sardinia, near the city of Alghero, it is now owned by the Campari Group. A total of 550 hectares of vineyards are used to cultivate grapes for the production of both white and red wines. The volcanic soils, combined with the local Mediterranean climate, provide perfect conditions for vine growth. Grape varieties used for red wine production include Connonau, Cabernet Sauvignon, Carignano, and Merlot. Sella & Mosca's white wines are made from grape varieties such as Vermentino, Sauvignon Blanc, and Torbato.
