Bründlmayer Grüner Veltliner Kamptal terraces
The Kamptal Terrassen from Bründlmayer is the classic introduction to the winery — a Grüner Veltliner that bears the signature of the estate without overwhelming you with complexity. Fresh, precise, suitable for everyday enjoyment.
Willi Bründlmayer is one of the most influential winemakers in Lower Austria. For decades, the winery has cultivated vineyards in the Kamptal region around Langenlois — loess soils in the lower areas, crystalline primary rock slate on the slopes. The Terrassen is the estate's accessible line, sourcing its grapes from several vineyards and reflecting the style of the region: dry, clear, with the typical white peppery spice of the Grüner Veltliner.
In the glass, it shows green apple, citrus zest, and a hint of grapefruit, underscored by the varietal-typical pepper note. The acidity is lively, the body lean, the finish clean and mineral. Not a wine for deep contemplation — but one that feels just as fresh on the third glass as it did on the first.
Serving temperature 8–10 °C. Pairs with Wiener Schnitzel, grilled zander, asparagus with hollandaise sauce, or an uncomplicated evening with good bread and cold cuts. Drink now, do not cellar.
