Baron Edmond de Rothschild Château des Laurets 1.5L. Magnum

A Bordeaux from the house of Rothschild that shows its best form in magnum format – the 1.5-liter bottle matures more slowly and evenly than the standard size, which gives the wine more time to develop complexity.

Château des Laurets is located in the Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux, directly on the border with Saint-Émilion. The domaine belongs to the Edmond de Rothschild Heritage group. The Château is one of the larger and more ambitious projects of the group on the right bank of the Dordogne.

In the glass, deep purple red. On the nose, blackberry, plum, and a hint of vanilla – classic profile of the right bank with gentle wood spice in the background. On the palate, medium body, soft tannins, fruit-sweet finish without heaviness. Accessible now, with potential for another three to five years of cellar aging.

• Food: Leg of lamb with herbs de Provence, entrecôte, ripe camembert
