Baron Edmond de Rothschild Château des Laurets SP

A structured red wine from Puisseguin-Saint-Émilion that, despite its approachable character, shows depth — classic right bank, with all that that entails.

Château des Laurets has been part of Domaine Edmond de Rothschild since 2003 and is located in Puisseguin-Saint-Émilion, a satellite appellation east of Saint-Émilion. The château is one of the largest estates in the region and works with the typical grape variety profile of the area: Merlot predominates, supported by Cabernet Franc. The limestone and clay soils significantly influence the structure of the wines.

On the nose, the SP displays ripe blackberry and black cherry, underpinned by a hint of vanilla from the oak aging. On the palate, dense yet ripe tannins—the typical profile of a cool, chalky Puisseguin terroir. The finish remains fruity and pleasantly long. James Suckling's 92 points underscore its quality.

Serving temperature: 16–18 °C. Drinkable now, will keep until approximately 2028–2030. Pairs well with entrecôte with herb butter, leg of lamb, or strong goat cheese.
