Baron Edmond de Rothschild Château des Laurets

A Bordeaux from the Right Bank that shows the typical strength of vineyards near Saint-Émilion: velvety fruit, structured tannins and a pleasant depth without excessive heaviness.

Château des Laurets is located in the Puisseguin-Saint-Émilion appellation, one of the so-called satellite Saint-Émilions east of the famous main appellation. The estate belongs to the Edmond de Rothschild family, who, in addition to Lafite and Mouton, also consistently focus on artisanal winemaking on the Right Bank—with the aim of capturing the unique character of each terroir in the bottle rather than delivering a uniform international style.

In the glass, the wine displays a deep purple hue. The nose offers dark forest berries, blackberry, and a hint of plum, underpinned by a subtle vanilla note from the barrel aging. On the palate, it is medium-bodied with soft, well-integrated tannins and a fresh fruitiness that carries the finish. Not a heavyweight—but a wine with presence.

Serving temperature 16–18 °C. Ready to drink now, can be stored without problems until approximately 2027. Pairs well with leg of lamb with herbs de Provence, grilled entrecôte, or a spicy goat cheese from the Périgord region.
