Casa Ferreirinha – in the Douro Valley, this name stands for tradition, passion, and wines that tell a story. It all began with Dona Antónia Adelaide Ferreira, one of the most fascinating figures in Portuguese winemaking. The woman who shaped the estate in the 19th century was far ahead of her time – courageous, entrepreneurial, and deeply rooted in the ruggedly beautiful Douro. Her legacy lives on in every glass today. The wines of Casa Ferreirinha showcase the Douro's potential: deep, warm fruit, a velvety texture, and a power that is never overpowering. Whether the legendary Barca-Velha or an approachable Esteva – here you can feel the soul of a region that doesn't just produce wine, it lives it.

about Casa Ferreirinha Esteva Douro DOC

Casa Ferreirinha –
Douro tradition since Dona Antónia

Casa Ferreirinha is one of the most defining wineries of the Douro Valley – and its history begins with an extraordinary woman. In the 19th century, Dona Antónia Adelaide Ferreira built a winery that captured the rugged beauty of the Douro in bottles: boldly cultivated, deeply rooted in the region, far ahead in thinking and craftsmanship. Her name is still inseparably linked to the character of these wines today.

What makes Casa Ferreirinha special is evident in the glass: warm, dense fruit, a velvety texture, and a power that never pushes. The Barca Velha is considered one of the most important red wines in Portugal – bottled only in exceptional vintages, from old Touriga Nacional and Touriga Franca vines on slate soils. Alongside it are more accessible wines like the Esteva, which brings the Douro character to the table without detours.

The wines are suitable for hearty meat dishes, aged cheese, or a long evening with good bread – and they always tell of a region that does not produce wine, but lives it.
