Casa Ferreirinha is considered one of the undisputed icons of Portuguese viticulture and also enjoys the highest international reputation. It was named after the famous granddaughter of the dynasty founder, Dona Antónia Ferreira, who went by the nickname "Ferreirinha" (the little Ferreira) and who had dedicated her entire life to the Douro and Port; she is a legend in her homeland.
The Esteva Douro shows powerful hints of black and red berries with floral notes in its scent. Finely integrated tannin and gentle traces of wood support the almost overflowing, berry-like fruit on the palate. Full-bodied and rich, soft and round. Complex finish, almost indulgently mouth-filling.

Which grape variety is in the Esteva Douro?
Tempranillo forms the basis of this Douro DOC, also known in the region as Tinta Roriz. The variety provides the dense, dark berry fruit and the fine tannin structure.
