The Italian winery Bolla was founded in 1883 by Abele Bolla in northern Italy. His sons soon joined the business, assisting their father. During World War II, Abele Bolla's wines enjoyed considerable renown, which in 1946 enabled exports to America and the establishment of a local presence. The winery is located in the Veneto region and owns several vineyards where various grape varieties are cultivated. These include red varieties such as Merlot, Molinara, Corvina, and Rondella, as well as Cabernet Sauvignon. Bolla's white varieties include Garganega, Pinot Grigio, and Chardonnay. The winery also produces Prosecco.

Bolla —
Veneto since 1883: from Valpolicella to Soave
Bolla is one of the oldest wineries in the Veneto. Abele Bolla founded the business in 1883 in northern Italy, his sons joined early on — a family tradition that has given the house its continuity over generations. The fact that the wines enjoyed a reputation even during the Second World War and made the leap into the American market in 1946 shows how early Bolla was perceived beyond the region.
The winery is now rooted in Valpolicella and manages several sites in the Veneto. For the red wines, classic varieties of the region are the focus: Corvina, Molinara, and Rondinella form the basis of the Valpolicella wines, supplemented by Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. For the whites, Bolla relies on Garganega — the main variety of Soave — as well as Pinot Grigio and Chardonnay. Added to this is Prosecco from the Venetian hills.
The style of the wines is oriented towards the tradition of the region: accessible, clearly varietal, and with the claim to reflect the diversity of the Veneto in the bottle — from light Soave to aged red wines from Corvina grapes.
