Bolla Valpolicella DOC Classico half bottle

A classic Valpolicella from the heart of the Classico zone – accessible, uncomplicated, and in the practical 0.375 l format, just right for a glass in the evening.

Bolla is one of the most famous names in the Veneto. The house was founded in 1883 in Soave and shaped the international perception of the region for decades. The Valpolicella Classico comes from the core area west of Verona – municipalities like Negrar, Marano, and Sant'Ambrogio – where the Corvina, Rondinella, and Molinara grape varieties grow on calcareous soils.

A light ruby red appears in the glass. The nose brings sour cherry, pomegranate, and a hint of dried herbs – typical for the light, fresh style of the Classico zone. On the palate, medium-light body, lively acidity, soft tannins, and a short, fruit-forward finish.

Serving temperature: 16–17 °C. The half-bottle format (0.375 l) is practical if you don't want to plan a whole evening for a bottle – or as an accompaniment to a solo dinner.
Goes well with pasta al ragù, pizza Margherita, grilled vegetables, or mild Pecorino.

Bolla

The Italian winery Bolla was founded in 1883 by Abele Bolla in northern Italy. His sons soon joined the business, assisting their father. During World War II, Abele Bolla's wines enjoyed considerable renown, which in 1946 enabled exports to America and the establishment of a local presence. The winery is located in the Veneto region and owns several vineyards where various grape varieties are cultivated. These include red varieties such as Merlot, Molinara, Corvina, and Rondella, as well as Cabernet Sauvignon. Bolla's white varieties include Garganega, Pinot Grigio, and Chardonnay. The winery also produces Prosecco.
