Zabu Nero d'Avola Sicilia IGT

The Zabù Nero d'Avola has a very fruit-forward nose in the direction of cherry and dark berries. In addition, a subtle spice with a light spicy touch, e.g., of eucalyptus and Christmas spices. In the mouth, the Nero d'Avola is very soft and pleasant with soft tannins. A light fruit sweetness lets the fruit aromas fully emerge.

This red wine is a real all-rounder. It fits as a drinking wine with many dishes (e.g., pasta dishes, pan-fried dishes, meat in light sauces, mild cheeses), but it can also play out its strengths as an unobtrusive companion for a cozy evening.

Disappointed

Due to various positive reviews I also bought this wine. In any case, this wine does not meet my taste, but my expectation was probably set too high. I will taste other red wines, eventually I will find the needle in the haystack.

Average wine for solid price

I tasted them both from "Zabu".If you want really good Nero D'avola wine you can get it for 2€ more from same "Zabu" winery and it is called "Chiantari".That wine is way better than this avarage Nero D'avola.

The Winery

Vigneti Zabù

Vigneti Zabù comes from the heart of Sicily – an island that has always understood wine as more than just a drink: as an expression of earth, sun and strength of character.

Zabù is driven by a passion for indigenous grape varieties like Nero d'Avola and Grillo , which thrive on the region's barren, mineral-rich soils. The wines are honest, approachable, and brimming with Sicilian energy – warm, deep, and vibrant.

If you want to experience Sicily in a glass, Zabù is the right place for you.
