Zabu Chiantari Nero d'Avola Sicilia

A Nero d'Avola from Sicily's sun-scorched southwest – powerfully structured, with dark fruit and Mediterranean spice that you recognize immediately.

Vigneti Zabù cultivates vineyards in the province of Agrigento, not far from the coast. Here, hot, dry summers and mineral-rich clay soils with volcanic components define the character of the Nero d'Avola: dense fruit, natural warmth, firm structure. The Chiantari line stands for varietal, straightforward wines without excessive use of wood – accessible, but not flat.

On the nose, the wine opens with black cherry, blackberry, and elderberry. Beneath this lie licorice, dark chocolate, and a discreet hint of roasted aromas – complex for this price range. On the palate, it is full-bodied and dense: firm tannins with pleasant ripeness, no harshness. The acidity holds the structure together and gives the wine freshness despite its warmth. The finish is long, characterized by dark berry fruit and a slight bitter almond note.

The Sydney International Wine Competition 2012 awarded the 2010 vintage Blue Gold – an indication of the potential of this cuvée.

Already know this wine from our Italian restaurant and have also ordered it from another wine merchant. Here, however, it was cheaper and by picking it up yourself you also save the shipping costs ...

Classy wine with lots of aroma

A first-class wine at a good price! Discovered in my favorite restaurant and then ordered via Vinoscout for home. Tastes excellent with pizza and pasta or simply cozy in front of the fireplace.

good wine, very good price-performance ratio

delicious red wine. Fruity, although still dry. Nevertheless not too simple, so it also has complexity. Very good price-performance ratio

My favorite standard table wine, for which this designation, given its class, is actually an insult. Incredible price-performance ratio.

Vigneti Zabù

Vigneti Zabù comes from the heart of Sicily – an island that has always understood wine as more than just a drink: as an expression of earth, sun and strength of character.

Zabù is driven by a passion for indigenous grape varieties like Nero d'Avola and Grillo , which thrive on the region's barren, mineral-rich soils. The wines are honest, approachable, and brimming with Sicilian energy – warm, deep, and vibrant.

If you want to experience Sicily in a glass, Zabù is the right place for you.
