Pinot Blanc quality wine, dry

The Pinot Blanc from Emrich-Schönleber shows what the Nahe can do when a top winery takes on an often underestimated grape variety: clear, mineral, with real drive.

The Emrich-Schönleber winery in Monzingen has belonged to the Nahe elite for decades. Frank Schönleber cultivates the steep slopes at the Monzinger Frühlingsplätzchen and Halenberg with high artisanal standards — known primarily for filigree Rieslings, but the Pinot Blanc also benefits from this precision. The soils of weathered slate and quartzite define the style: lean, mineral, with clear fruit.

In the glass, it shows aromas of yellow apple, white peach, and a hint of almond. The acidity is firm but cleanly integrated, the body medium-weight without heaviness. The finish has that typical stony note that distinguishes Nahe white wines from their Alsatian predecessors.
