Pinot Blanc quality wine, dry

Emrich-Schönleber's Pinot Blanc shows what the Nahe region can do when a top winery takes on an often underestimated grape variety: clear, mineral, with real drive.

The Emrich-Schönleber winery in Monzingen has been among the Nahe elite for decades. Frank Schönleber cultivates the steep slopes of the Monzinger Frühlingsplätzchen and Halenberg vineyards with meticulous craftsmanship—renowned above all for his delicate Rieslings, but his Pinot Blanc also benefits from this precision. The soils of weathered slate and quartzite define the style: lean, mineral, with clear fruit expression.

In the glass, it displays aromas of yellow apple, white peach, and a hint of almond. The acidity is firm but well-integrated, the body medium-bodied without heaviness. The finish has that typical stony note that distinguishes Nahe white wines from their Alsatian counterparts.

Emrich-Schönleber

Emrich-Schönleber is one of the names you should know if you truly want to understand Riesling. The family winery of Werner and Frank Schönleber is located on the Nahe River – a region often overshadowed by the Mosel and Rheingau, but one that boasts vineyards of exceptional quality. Their Grand Cru wines from the Halenberg and Auf der Ley vineyards regularly set new standards: mineral, precise, with an aging potential spanning decades.
