Riesling Mineral

The Riesling Mineral from Emrich-Schönleber shows why the Nahe region is one of the most exciting Riesling regions in Germany: minerality in the foreground, fruit as an elegant companion.

The Emrich-Schönleber winery in Monzingen has been among the very best German Rieslings for decades. The Schönleber family cultivates their vineyards on the northern edge of the Nahe region with great care – the soil, composed of colorful sandstone and porphyry, shapes the winery's distinctive style.

In the glass, ripe apricot and white peach are revealed, underpinned by fine flint and a subtle spiciness. The mouthfeel is juicy and direct—no heaviness, no harshness. The acidity carries the wine without being sharp, keeping it lively right through to the long, salty-mineral finish.

Serving temperature 9–11 °C. Pairs well with grilled pike-perch with herb butter , light poultry in cream sauce, or a mature goat cheese. Also a good choice as an aperitif—its dry style makes it versatile.

Emrich-Schönleber

Emrich-Schönleber is one of the names you should know if you truly want to understand Riesling. The family winery of Werner and Frank Schönleber is located on the Nahe River – a region often overshadowed by the Mosel and Rheingau, but one that boasts vineyards of exceptional quality. Their Grand Cru wines from the Halenberg and Auf der Ley vineyards regularly set new standards: mineral, precise, with an aging potential spanning decades.
