Sereno Colline Lucchesi DOC
The Sereno Colline Lucchesi DOC is the Tuscan heart of Villa Santo Stefano – the winery that Wolfgang Reitzle and Nina Ruge acquired in 2001 in the rolling hills of Lucchesia, not far from the city walls of Lucca. Since its first vintage in 2015, the Sereno has embodied the local identity of the region in its purest form: a blend of 80% Sangiovese, 20% Ciliegiolo, Colorino, and Canaiolo – exclusively hand-harvested and certified organic since the 2021 vintage.
In the glass, it displays a bright ruby red color with violet reflections . The nose opens fresh and inviting with aromas of violets, red cherries, pomegranate, and spices such as cloves and pepper. On the palate, it is fresh, juicy, and balanced, with rounded, well-integrated tannins, lively acidity, and a long, fruity-smoky finish with a delicate, creamy texture.
Matured for 12 months in 20-hectoliter barrels , bottled unclarified and unfiltered, at 13.5–14.5% ABV and ideally served at 16–19 °C . A natural accompaniment to pasta with tomato sauce, leg of lamb, grilled beef, and aged Pecorino cheese – authentically Tuscan, unpretentious, and irresistible.
Villa Santo Stefano – a place nestled in the rolling hills of Tuscany where history, nature, and passion intertwine in a truly special way. Founded by Wolfgang Reitzle and Nina Ruge around the historic Villa Bertolli near Lucca, this boutique winery has been developing since 2001 with a clear vision: certified organic farming, deep roots in the terroir – and wines that truly have a story to tell.
Whether it's the characterful red wine Loto , the vibrant Vermentino Gioia , or the elegant Rosato Luna – each bottle reflects the essence of Tuscany in its purest form. And to complement it: a multi-award-winning organic olive oil with the Lucca DOP, which reveals in a single drop what this landscape has to offer.
