Vigna del Suolo Brunello di Montalchino DOCG 3er HK

Vigna del Suolo is Argianon's answer to the question of what Brunello di Montalcino can achieve when a single vineyard is consistently developed to its fullest potential. Ripe tannins, firm acidity, and a depth that takes years – and gives them.

Argiano is one of Montalcino's oldest estates, with origins dating back to the 16th century. The winery is located in the southern part of the DOCG, where the soils are richer in clay and the summers are hotter than in the north. This very location shapes the Vigna del Suolo : a clearly defined plot, exclusively Sangiovese Grosso (Brunello), extended maceration, and traditional aging in large wooden barrels. DOCG regulations stipulate a minimum of five years of aging – Argiano utilizes this time fully.

In the glass, it displays a deep garnet red color. The nose offers aromas of cherry jam, violets, and dried herbs, with a hint of leather spice. On the palate, it features firm but well-integrated tannins, lively acidity, and a long finish with notes of tobacco and dark chocolate.

Serving suggestion: Decant now (at least one hour) or store until 2035+. Serving temperature 17–18 °C. Pairs well with braised wild boar, Bistecca alla Fiorentina, or mature Pecorino di Pienza.

Argiano

Argiano – for centuries, this name has stood for Tuscan winemaking at its finest. The estate lies in the heart of the Brunello zone, not far from Montalcino, where red soil, sun, and rugged hills provide the grapes with everything they need. What is produced here is not your average wine. The Sangiovese vines root deeply and ripen slowly – and you can taste it in the glass: a velvety texture, dark cherries, a hint of tobacco and earth. Powerful, yet elegant. Argiano combines tradition with modern thinking – in the vineyard as well as in the cellar. The result is wines that will stay with you long after you've finished tasting them.
